The sun tires of summer and sighs itself into autumn.

exactly how I feel lately.
My mind wanders through wooded paths of gold & red trees with flaming leaves
and my heart yearns for a perpetual Autumn....
showing up in my needlework, of course ~
first offering for August is this little embroidery simply titled

humbly-stitched by my hand 
using cotton threads on a primitive cloth background.... 

satin stitch, stem stitch and colonial knot was used
to bring the embroidery to life ~

mostly hand stitched, but what machine stitching I did 
was done on my antique Pfaff #31 treadle sewing machine ~

added embroidery & specialty stitches using cotton threads...

whole-cloth backing and simple turned edges in a spicy gold & red ticking ~
frames this little quilt nicely me thinks.

measures approx: 9-1/2" x 12-1/2"

double-applique pumpkin head & dress, 
and a tiny wool pumpkin!
